Bedroom Redo-Part I

Bill and I are currently redoing our room. I say Bill and I, but really, he is letting me do whatever I want! We have a really odd upstairs. It is only considered half a story because the ceilings in both bedrooms are slanted. The rooms are tiny, too...no huge master suite for us...not yet anyway (we can all dream)!
Before pics...so boring!

You'll have to excuse the quickly made bed, and the fans. It is very hot upstairs at the moment!
We also recently purchased the small flat screen tv. I like that it folds up against the wall so it doesn't take up a lot of space. Before that, we had a huge box tv in there.
So as you can see, there isn't much room for us to work with, but we'll make do!
I thought we should take advantage of the long weekend and head over to IKEA. The closet IKEA to us is in Cinncinnati, Ohio, so we figured we'd make a day of it. So Sunday, we woke up early and started our adventure!

I love IKEA! I'd never been there before and it was so confusing at first, but once we figured it out, I was smitten. Any place that is stock full of home furnishings, home decor, bedding, bath, etc. is bound to make me happy.

So after a few hours of walking around, we finally decided on a dresser that we liked, a few new lamps, some bud vases, and some other odds and ends.

Needless to say, a couple hundred dollars later, the car was packed and I was smiling.

Monday was a holiday for Bill and I, so we built our new dresser. So many parts!

Two and a half hours later, our finished product! Isn't she a beauty? I think we are going to splurge on the matching bed (ours takes up way too much space and doesn't match). Surprisingly, it also made the room feel larger. A double win!

It still needs a few more decorations and some small touches, but give us time. We'll get there!

We still have a lot to do. Paint the walls, get a bed, window treatments, night stands, etc. I already bought the bedding, but I will wait to post that until we have the new bed!

Anyone else doing and redecorating or remodeling??

p.s. sorry for the bad photo quality. i think i am going to buy a new camera. mine likes to make everything look dark and gloomy or really bright and blurry....ugh!
