Things are getting very exciting around here. Bill and I are looking to buy a house. I must admit that it was terrifying to tell my parents, seeing that we aren't married, not even engaged yet. The 'rents took the news pretty well though, and I explained that to us, it's the time to buy a house, but not time to have a wedding. We'd love to take advantage of the tax credit and buyer's market while we can, and any money Bill has saved for a ring could be used toward the house or downpayment. Financially it makes sense, and it just feels like the right time. Not to mention my sister got married a little over 6 months ago, so to throw another wedding at my parents right now, wouldn't be very nice!
So anyways, we've met with our realtor, and can't wait to see what's in store for us. I'm sure it will be a rollercoaster of emotions, but the thought of putting down roots, having a place to call all our own (that we don't rent), sounds amazing. The future is looking bright for Bill and I, and I couldn't be more excited!
